There is an awesome TAG going around called 10 products for $10 or less.  I have been asked by a few of my subbies to do the tag and it took me a couple of weeks...  but I have finally completed it.  I tried my best to provide a wide range of products... I realize now after I did the video that I should have included maybe skin care or mascara... but I included the things I love to use often.  Check out the video embedded below where I discuss all the products in detail or click here to watch on YouTube
Picture
I do not have the photos matched up with the video in order... so I apologize.  I am behind on reviews and will have some coming up soon on some of the products that I did discuss.

#1 - You can sign up for Ipsy for just $10 a month.  Ipsy offers you the opportunity to try out some really awesome brands, for an affordable price.  You get 4-5 products a month, some are full sized, some deluxe samples and you also get an awesome little makeup bag.  Here are some that I have collected over the last year and a half.
Picture
#2 - ELF 32 Shadow Eye Palettes are so affordable, it's ridiculous.  They range from $5 - $10 and you can purchase them at Eyeslipsface.com.  They come in Neutrals and Brights.
Picture
#3 - These little Stila palettes are perfect little higher end palettes that are great for travel, on the go and even stocking stuffers or gifts.  They are awesome palettes with great pigmentation and offer you the opportunity to try out products that you would have to pay a lot of money for.  Many times they are travel or sample deluxe sizes... so be sure to check your local Sephora for these awesome little things.
Picture
# 4 - Zoya nail polishes can be purchased on their website: zoya.com and come in a wide range of colors and finishes.  They are so gorgeous and beautiful that just looking at their website is difficult for me... if I had my way I would buy them all.  They range from about $8 - $9.00 and some of their Pixie Dust nail polishes will cost more than $10.00 - but for the most part you can get an awesome polish/nail lacquer for such a great price.
Picture
#5 - Milani Color Statement lipsticks come in an array of colors from Nudes to Reds and every other color in between.  They are creamy and awesome!  You can find them at your local drug stores or Milani online for about $5.99 to about $7.99 - totally worth it!
Picture
#6 - The Maybelline Color tattoos come in such a huge selection of colors now and Maybelline also comes out with limited edition collections from time to time.  I love them.  They are long lasting, a great primer/base that you can use on its own or under an eye shadow.  I love them.  They can be found in local stores like Walmart or drug stores for anywhere between $5.99 - $9.99.
Picture
#7 - Probably one of the best lash curlers I have ever had and I mean that whole heartily.  I keep 2 or 3 back ups just in case and will always order it unless they change the way they make it.  This is HG (Holy Grail) worthy.  At just $1.00 - $3.00, seriously - you can't go wrong.
Picture
#8 - I did a review for the Hard Candy All Glossed Up Sticks and let me just say these are awesome.  You can find them at your local Walmart for anywhere between $4.00 and $6.99
Picture
Maybelline Baby lips are one of my favorite lip balms besides my raved about EOS Lip balm spheres.  I just can't get enough of both... but baby lips are a little easier for me to get my hands on them.  I probably have about 8 or 10 of them.  They range in cost from $2.99 - $4.99, the most expensive are usually the limited editions.  Check it out!
Picture
Wet n Wild Color Icon Palettes are some of my favorites... if you don't own one... definitely pick at least a trio up, you will enjoy it as much as I do.  They range in cost from $2.99 - $4.99 and can be found at your local Drugstore, Walmart, Kmart or even some dollar stores.

I know my video was super long... but I had a lot to say. lol "What's new - right?" lol  But I hope this helped you guys see that you can get great quality at awesome prices.

One of my all time favorite colors in Nail Polish comes from China Glaze.  It is called IDK.  It is a color that I have purchased time and time again, I am on my 3rd or 4th bottle of it and I'm so glad it is a part of China Glaze's permanent line.  I have been using this color for most of June and pairing it with Zoya's Daul (the deeper purple with gold sparkle as my accent nail) and have been loving the combination.  It's a subtle accent to my awesome holographic nails.   So - instead of switching up my nail colors, I decided to just repaint them again the same color combo I have been using this month. lol
You can find Zoya polishes (which are some of my favs) at Zoya.com and China Glaze can be found at your local Nail or Beauty Supply Store, select retailers and online.

I got a ton of freebies in the mail this month.  If you are not following me on my Facebook Page, you may have missed some of these.  Freebies take approximately 8 weeks to arrive... so these are from the previous months... but definitely worth the wait.

I have been considering getting into couponing (in-depth this time), but it is hard to coupon here in Hawaii.  However... most of these goodies come with manufacturer coupons that you can use on your purchases.  While I'm  not an extreme coupon-er, I do like to save some money and this is a great way to try out new products and get coupons on those you love.
If you haven't checked out my FB Page yet, stop on by there and say hello.  I try to share all my freebies as I get notification that they are available.  Some days there are tons of them while others just a few... but it's awesome to get goodies in the mail especially if you can try out new stuff to decide if you want to buy them or not.

Hope you liked this month's goodies!
xoxo

It's been a long while since my family and I got together to take some pictures of all of us together.  Let's face it, it's just difficult in general to find someone you trust to take your photos, but more so when you are a photographer.  Today - my husband, the boys, our dog Ikaika and I got together and took some pictures.
I didn't have anyone behind the lens of the camera, so I used my remote control.  The thing about using a remote is that while you can set up the camera the best you can and focus where you need, you still lose some sense of control.  I am still very happy with how the pictures came out.
I absolutely love my little family and I love that we are constantly making memories of our life together.  We are such a close-nit family that I couldn't imagine myself without any of them.  I'm am so thankful to the Heavenly Father above for giving me this opportunity to have such precious and wonderful people in my life.

Thank you for letting me share these images with you.  I absolutely can't get enough of these people and I wanted to show the World the people in my life I am the most in love with and passionate about!

Today's outfit was selected because my family and I set up the camera to take our Family pics (post coming soon).  I wanted to look dressy but still have a casual look that I could use out anywhere.  Originally I considered using a dress... but it was so hot today, I really wanted to feel cool.
Picture
Honestly, I just couldn't figure out what would work, but I knew I wanted to use my tan tank top and needed to pair it with items that would dress it up a bit.  I started thinking back to what I wore when I was a workaholic, when I worked 12 - 16 hour days.  And, it dawned on me that I always wanted to make sure to have a little bit of flair with my business outfits.  To give it that little casual look and something I knew I could totally rock from Corporate office to a night out with my love, I decided I would add my denim vest in the mix.  And, this is what I came up with.  Totally dressy but still flirty and casual enough to go and hang out after work with my hubby.  This would be a great combo for a night out to dinner, movies or just out for a few drinks.  I love it!
Picture
Jewelry and accessories were at a minimum today - since our weather was in the mid 90's,
I decided less was definitely more.   And, since it was so hot, I originally was going to wear my hair down, but opted to wear a messy low bun that was slightly to the right side.  I added a flower for a little detail, but I didn't get a good shot of it.

Bracelets:  Hawaiian Heirloom Sterling Silver Bracelet Bangles
Watch:  Invicta Divers Watch
Necklace:  3 Diamond Pendant Necklace
Earrings:  Diamond Stud Earrings
Rings:  Wedding Rings (left hand), Silver multi-diamond ring (right hand)
Hair accessories:  Black, Beige and Brown Leopard Print Gerber Daisy

Distressed Denim Vest - Forever 21 Plus
Tan/Light Brown Tank - Lane Bryant
Black Knee Length Pencil Skirt - Lane Bryant

My sandals for today are one of my favorites.
I love that it is classic and comfortable.
And, considering it's 5 inches in height, they are easy to walk in.

Footwear - Marco Santi Black Strap 5 inch wedges (Sole Society)

Today's outfit photos were taken by me.
As you can see in the photos, I'm holding my remote control.
I wasn't fast enough to hide it in each photo, I'm still working out the kinks
as I normally use a timer or have my son snap the shots.
All in all - I'm excited to post a lot more looks for all of you
now that I am putting this little controller to use.

You ever have those days when you wake up and it feels so chilly and cool that you just don't want to get out of bed?  Well, that was me this morning.  I had a feeling the sun would be hiding today, it just ached so much in my bones last night and to top it all off... I couldn't sleep all night.  I just assumed it would be awesome cuddle weather today.

Now - don't get me wrong, rainy days are awesome.  I find that it is that one day that you can feel like you are chilling out even if you are busy accomplishing a ton of tasks.  I processed some orders, cleaned the kitchen and freezer and managed to do a bunch of other things today - all while in the comforts of my own hoodie. lol http://instagram.com/p/bAEbuaB7TH/ The link to my short instagram video.  Wish I could figure out how to embed it.

I also had some down time and played on my phone, as I usually do when I have down time.  It allows me to learn new things without taking out the manual and reading up on it.  I put together another "Idea Note" on my Look Book's I have so far for summer. :)
Picture
So - while the sunshine decided it didn't want to come out and play today - I must say... I accomplished more than my fair share of things on my checklist.  Yay - Go Me!  Since we stayed home today and there was not much going on - I decided I wasn't going to vlog... but look forward to the next one coming up!

Hope you guys had an awesome day!  Looking forward to tomorrow!

Check out my recent videos...

I'm really enjoying summer with my boys... check out what we did today - video embedded above or click here.

Dinner Diaries... Tutorial on how to do this can be found here.

Okay, let's face it - I'm a mother of 3 very very active boys.  If you have been watching my vlogs - then you know that they keep me on my toes.  And, because of this, while I do love wearing makeup - simple, easy and near to nothing is my choice.

On my face today:  Coconut Oil as my moisturizer and sunblock
On my lips:  Maybelline's Baby Lips in Pink Wink (one of my favs)

My brows - Not done, not groomed, not anything. lol  Nothing else was done to my face.  Any black you may see on my lash line (top and bottom) is because my eyeliner was tattooed almost 10 years ago.  I love the look of fresh and clean faces and I especially love how it feels on my face and body during the summer months.   It is usually too hot to use makeup so I love rocking it out this way.   I figured I would share with all of you how I roll during the summer months.  Thanks for checking it out!

I have made similar dishes before in the past, but never this one in particular.  I had to call a friend (shout out to Mia) to find out what she used to create the pasta noodles since I didn't have a spiralizer or julienne slicer.  I added my own twist to add in the raw butternut squash for texture and flavor.  Butternut squash is so delicious raw if it is sliced thin enough.
Picture
If you try this recipe or have your own little twist, definitely let me know - I would love to know how you liked it.

Ingredients needed:

  • Green Zucchini - 1 to 2
  • Yellow Zucchini - 1
  • Butternut Squash - 1/2 of a full
  • Button Mushrooms - about 5 / sliced
  • Pasta Sauce - one jar
  • Turkey meatballs - depends on the number of servings
Picture
Here was tonight's dinner (pictured above), where I also used the Zucchini Pastas (Green and Yellow) and Raw Butternut squash,  but I added chicken breasts, kale, mushrooms and grape tomatoes.  Here are the steps I took to create this.

  1. Brown / cook your Chicken Breasts
  2. Add your mushrooms
  3. Add your kale (chop the kale into small pieces)
  4. Add your zucchini (green and yellow) to the pan when your chicken breast and mushrooms are cooked.
  5. Cook your zucchini until it is soft (you are basically just warming it up a bit - just like in the video tutorial)
  6. Add your cherry tomatoes
  7. Season to taste
  8. Plate your butternut squash (raw) on your plate
  9. plate up the other ingredients, place on top of your butternut squash
  10. Serve!

Today's Outfit was inspired by the island weather here on Maui.  It was nice and cool where I live, but I just knew it would be warm and humid downtown.  So I dressed to be cool and comfortable.  The goal was to make sure that I could still move and be agile to keep up with my boys but still look a little dressy and put together.  I absolutely love this look.  I loved pairing ribbed tanks with anything but especially a nice flowing skirt.
Picture
Top:  Ribbed Tan Tank from Jeans Warehouse
Skirt: Multi Color maxi style skirt from Jeans Warehouse
Footwear:  Wedged Flip flops from Colin Stuart, Victoria Secret
Sunglasses:  Maui Jims / Tortoise Shell
Watch:  Invicta Divers Watch
Necklace:  3 Diamond Pendant Necklace
Earrings:  Diamond Earrings

For my makeup today... I didn't have any particular inspiration.  I wanted to just be natural, some mascara and makeup lipstick - but I wanted to submit a photo for the Ipsy Contest... so I decided to play up my eyes today.

Primer:  Too Faced Shadow Insurance
Base:  Maybelline Color Tattoo in Bad to the Bronze
Eyeshadows:  Lorac Pro Palette - Taupe (in the crease and blended into my transition), Pewter (on the outer half of my lid blended into the crease), Gold (on the inner corner of my lid and blended onto the inner corner of my lower lash line), Deep Purple (on the lower lash line and lightly blended into the outer "v" to create definition and contour), Cream (blended under my brow bone as my highlight)
Liner:  Upper Lash Line - Cailyn Purple Gel Eyeliner, Lower lash line/waterline/tightline - Urban Decay 24/7 Pencil liner in Perversian.
Eye brows:  Wet n Wild Ultimate Brow Kit (light brown) and Anastasia Beverly Hills Lash Genius Waterproof Top coat
Lashes:  Starlooks Lash Booster Lash Primer, Mary Kay Ultimate Mascara
Lips: Milani Color Statement Lip liner in Haute Pink 05, Starlooks Tipsy Lipliner

I know my top in my OOTD and the top in my FOTD photos are different.  I actually changed mid-day because it got super duper hot and wearing what I was wearing just made it hotter. ;)

Social Network and Photo programs all all the hype now a days... and I say this because I am a total addict when it comes to photo-bombing and posting pics like crazy.  My Instagram is flooded with images of myself, my family and lots of food. lol  And, as many of you may know - I also have accounts for video sharing sites like Keek and Vine.  Well, a couple of days ago... I received notification that Instagram had joined the video bandwagon and rolled out their Instagram Video.  While similar to Keek and Vine, there are some differences as well.

Instagram allows you to record 30 second video clip intervals.  You can pause your videos, just like Vine (which is only 6 seconds), but you can't loop your videos.   And, a really cool feature that Instagram offers... you an actually add filters to your short vids, unlike Vine where you are left with the original version of your video.  I also like that Instagram Video offers you the option to select the cover photo for your video and a few more options with regard to posting and sharing on other Social Networking Sites.

For the most part... I really enjoyed Vine, but since I have similar options and some better ones (since Android is still working out the kinks with Vine) I am really liking Instagram video.  I was a little bit weirded out by it the other day and after finally getting it to work (I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 2 and had to install JellyBean 4.1.2) I am really liking the options.  What I really enjoy is the fact that I use Instagram very often and in some cases... more than any of my other Social Media apps since it links to my Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr., etc.  It will be really nice to be able to stay in one app instead of taking the time to go between both (Vine & Instagram).

Now - will I cancel my Keek and Vine?  I'm unsure as of yet and haven't decided  yet.  I have kept both accounts open and may post to each still - we shall see.  I will definitely do a follow up post on this in the coming weeks once I have had a chance to compare them all.

Happy Saturday Lovers!

I hope you guys like this look.  Since it is summer, I don't use makeup often - it's just too hot. lol But stay tuned for more looks coming soon!

As if being a Photographer didn't have me carrying my   camera with me everywhere - being a mother makes me an automatic Photog, no formal training really needed and camera is always at my side.  Besides my blog and YouTube - most of you know that Photography is my day job and one I truly am passionate about.  While being a Photographer is an awesome job - it also means that sometimes, when you are a mom - important photos slip through the cracks and get filed in a drawer or on a hard drive to be found years later.  I am completely guilty of that... sometimes I go through thousands of photos in a week, all from shoots and sessions and completely forget about the ones I took of my boys and my family.   Honestly, thanks to Facebook, Instagram and YouTube... I am glad I'm able to share my mobile photos so they don't get lost in the hustle and bustle of life.

I was contacted by Easy Canvas Prints about a week ago and was asked to work with them.  I immediately looked around my house and realized that I hadn't had any recent photos of my family on any of our walls.  All of them were a few years old and I knew this would be the best opportunity to update our Family photo.

Easy Canvas Prints is a company I have heard of many times.  Unfortunately - before this, I had never had the opportunity to work with them, but I know that they will be a company I will continue to work with for personal purposes as well as those for my business.  While I have not received their product for review yet (I am still in the process of selecting the image I would like to use and then will need to wait for the print to be made and delivered), I have had the chance to go through their website and communicate back & forth with the team at Easy Canvas Prints in detail.  Their Canvases come in a large selection of sizes from an 8"x8" all the way to 30"x40" and they also offer custom sizes.  They also offer 2 different thicknesses with regards to the wrap and you can also opt to have it framed if you would like.

Looking for something a little different from a Canvas?  How about a wall display?  They offer those on the site as well - which give you the opportunity to select several different images to display in your home.

Easy Canvas Prints' website is super easy to maneuver and since I didn't have the opportunity to order from them yet (as I stated above, I will be in the next week) I had to reach out to a few photog friends and get their thoughts.  Each of them stated that they loved the ease of ordering, quick shipping and their quality prints/canvases.  I am definitely going to be using Easy Canvas Prints in the future.

Once I receive my canvas print - I will be doing a complete and formal review with images for you to see what I got as well as details on the progress.  This way I can provide my own thoughts as well as images and it will give you a better feel for what I think about it.  Even without having a product to work with or see with my own eyes in person, the Customer Service so far has been awesome and I am loving the referrals I'm receiving from fellow colleagues.

Easy Canvas Prints has been so generous in that they are sponsoring a Giveaway for my readers.   One lucky reader of mine will receive a beautiful 8"x10" Canvas print of their own - to display in their homes.  This beautiful canvas print is valued at $44.71 and is definitely a great addition to any family home wall or mantle.   All the information for the Giveaway and the rules are listed below.

Stay tuned for the formal review coming in the next few weeks along with images of the beautiful canvas I will receive.  I can't wait to share with all of you, as a Photographer - a Canvas Print or Wall Displays are some of the best things to get when displaying images of your loved ones or art.

I'd be lying if I didn't say that I already filmed and released my Ipsy Bag reveal a day or two ago... but let's face it - I'm a busy woman and editing images or even taking them for that matter, is a task all in its own.  Don't get me wrong - I do enjoy what I do - but sometimes it takes me a day or two longer than I would like. lol

This month's Ipsy Bag was awesome in my opinion.  It included brands that I love and one I wasn't too familiar with.  For $10.00 a month (shipping included) that is definitely a steal and I am loving each product I received.
Picture
Freeman Beauty Psssst! The True Original On-The-Go Instand Dry Shampoo
The first goodie in my bag for June is the Freeman Beauty Psssst! the True Original On-The-Go Instant dry shampoo.  If I'm not mistaken - this is the Travel size... with a Net Wt. of 1.76oz.   I have used this product many times and purchase the full size from my favorite Drug Stores.  I really do love it!
Retail for the full size is $ 13.98
Picture
Cailyn Line-Fix Gel Eyeliner in Purple
This awesome Gel liner reminds me of my Laura Geller Ink Well Liner - but in a larger version.  It has it's brush built in for easy use and definitely great travel.  It is creamy and smooth and I love the application, not to mention it's very pigmented and has great staying power.  I especially love that I got the purple - YAY ME! I received the full size of this liner.
Retail value: $21.00
Picture
J.Cat Beauty - Sparkling Cream Palette
I don't have the palette on me so I can't remember the name... I know, FAIL. lol
But, I really think this is a cool palette to have.  Of course, it should not be used near the eye area - which I did use, but use at your own discretion - I'm not responsible for mishaps.  The colors are bold and vibrant and definitely great to do body art or even theatrical or Halloween looks.  I'm looking forward to using this palette more in the future - I just hate washing off the glitter when I'm done looking sparkly. lol  I did receive the full size of this palette
Retail value:  $4.49
Picture
Starlook's Lip liner in Tipsy
This gorgeous coral pink colored lip liner is creamy and glides on very smoothly.  Considering it is a pencil liner that you have to sharpen (not twist up) I am very happy that my lips do not get tugged or yanked when applying.  While it can fade and may need to be reapplied from time to time, this awesome lip liner has pretty awesome lasting qualities.  I received a full size liner in my Ipsy Bag.
Retail Value: $12.00
Picture
NYX Cream Blush in Hot Pink
Let me just start off by saying that this blush is beautiful.  It has lasting pigmentation and is extremely blend-able and build-able.  I LOVE the color, it matches my skintone to perfection.  I received the Full Size of this product in my Ipsy Bag.
Retail Value: $6.00

So - the theme for this month's bag was "on the Wild Side" and I am definitely Wild about this month's bag.  It includes so many products that I already love from Brands that are definitely awesome.  This month's retail value of the entire bag is over $55.00 and that doesn't even include the cost of the makeup bag - which I love.  Ipsy has most definitely proven to be a great monthly subscription service.  While I have had issues with their shipping (which I cannot attest to be their fault or that of the shipping service) I am very happy with what I receive.  I have gotten well over 16 Glam Bags from My Glam/Ipsy and they have always made me smile. :)

I know, I know... I'm not smiling in this pic. lmao But I did this look the other day using products from my IpsyGlam Bag.  I wasn't going to share this look, I even did a tutorial but after playing it back, the lighting was not ideal... But I figured I would share it and I may redo the tutorial.

Products used:
Eyeshadow: J.Cat Sparkling Cream Palette in Suzie
Maybelline Color Tattoo in Bad to the Bronze
Urban Decay Naked 1 Palette - Buck

Lips: MAC Saint Germain and a little of MAC Candy Yum Yum
Starlooks Lip liner in Tipsy
Milani Colorstatement lipstick in Fruit Punch

Eye liner: Cailyn Gel Liner in Purple
Mally Beauty Evercolor Starlight Waterproof Liner in Midnight

Blush: NYX Cosmetics Cream Blush in Hot Pink

Mascara: Starlooks Lash Booster
Mary Kay Ultimate Mascara

Contacts worn are from Candy Color Lenses.

I wanted to be very cool and casual today and while this may be a little too casual for most...
I figured I would share it anyway.

Today I am wearing shorts and a flowy peasant style top.  I want to thank my oldest for taking my photos for me today - he really is turning into a great photog.  We used my phone for these images,
so I hope they came out up to our normal standard.
Top:  White Peasant Style Top from Blue Ginger
Shorts:  Khaki Draw String Cargo Shorts from Torrid - these are a little short, but hey - it's Summer.
Flip Flops:  Old Navy Gold Glitter Jellies
Miche Prima Bag from Miche
Sunglasses from Sunglasses Warehouse
And my normal jewelry - I tend to use these pieces and my gold the most during the Summer.

Yesterday was Father's Day and a super casual and laid back day for all of us.  It was unfortunate that my hubby had to work but my in laws were over the house so it was great to get caught up and hang out.  Since it was so warm and hot - I figured a comfy dress would be in order.

I love tube dresses... they are so cool and comfortable.  The dress I am wearing is from Blue Ginger, a local Hawaii Island Wear Boutique.  The dress is made out of Batik Material, which makes it durable (great for chasing after children) and comfortable to wear out and about and staying cool.
Dress:  Blue Hawaiian Print Hibiscus dress from Blue Ginger
Flip flops:  Roxy
Sunglasses:  Sunglasses Warehouse
Jewelry:  Same ol jewelry from previous posts... my every day summer jewelry. :)

**Pardon the quality of the photo - again, I used my camera phone. :)
