Have a Happy and Awesome Weekend.

Happy Thirsty Thursday Hunnies.  I filmed this GRWM (Get Ready With Me) look on Tuesday... I'm a bit late getting it up, however... the actual video before editing was an hour long. lol  Purple & Golds are some of my favorite eye makeup looks and I am really loving the Bronze Shimmer Powder from Mica Beauty to create this look.  Funny thing is... it's called bronze but looks like a peachy goldish color.  I absolutely love it and I swear I will be using it all up if I don't learn to pace myself. lol  So - come and chit chat with me and watch me Get Ready while I create this look.  I love it, how about you?  More photos as well as the Video is listed below - check it out! <3

I really wanted to get a better close up of the eye.  What I absolutely love about the products I'm using is how long they last and their longevity.  The photo below (as well as those above) were taken hours after I had applied my makeup.  I actually had to retake the photos because the lighting was so bright over head when I originally took them that it washed out a lot of the color.  I had to wait until the light was a little less overhead, so I took these photos about 4 hours after I had completed the look.

The photos above (with brown background) were taken first thing after I did the look, but as you can tell... they were taken in harsh lighting... so it really washed out the boldness of the color on my eyes.
Picture
The photo above was taken a few hours after the second set of photos... the color is slightly fading... but the blush is still visible, loving this blush... and my eye color still visible.  But this was taken about 8 hours after I applied my makeup originally.  Don't you just love that lip color, I haven't reapplied all day.  I have done a test and will have the review up soon - so stay tuned.  That's it for the looks loves... thanks for joining me.
Have a wonderful Thursday!

I know how difficult it can be to eat healthy when you are in the mood for a light snack or lunch.  It's very easy to reach into the fridge or pantry and grab something that is not too healthy.   It is especially so when children come home from school, hungry and with lots of energy and you want to be able to put something in front of them that will be healthy for them and quick to make.  As a busy mom, I need something that is quick for me to make and feeding their energy with something that will give my child a fulfillment and satisfy their hunger till dinner is key to a happy household.

While I am sure that there are other variations to this easy meal - this is mine.  The boys love it and they are getting vegetables as well as a healthy snack/meal to tie them off till dinner. :)  I hope you guys enjoy this - the ingredient list is posted below as well as the walk through cooking video embedded below.  To watch directly on YouTube - click here.

Have you ever had one of those days where everything seems to be all out of sorts?  Well, that has been me... except is has been every single day this week.   Of course, my monthly BFF is here to visit as well, so that really doesn't help the situation much.  But, I know that there are just some off days or in my case, off weeks that are simply unavoidable.   But, while I truly rather not deal with it... I have no choice but to put my big girl panties on and get over it. lol
Picture
I have to admit... I'm truly lucky.  I have a wonderful husband supports and loves me unconditionally and 3 sons that love their mommy.   I guess because Summer has come to an end that the hum drum and "back to business" mentality has kicked in and my brain or my heart is not ready for it.   But, tomorrow is a new day, a new week and hopefully things will just move forward as they always do.

My Dearest Children...  Yes, Your Mommy is Crazy and sometimes seems like she has lost her marbles.  While I would like to say it is temporary - I am afraid that I would be lying.  But always know, no matter how loony toony your Mommy may seem, she loves you unconditionally and with all her heart.  I am working on new ideas of fun things for us to do when you are not in school... so hang tight my loves, there is so much more for us to look forward to. <3 xo

Dear Safeway Select... Why must you tempt me so?  I am a huge Salted Caramel Gelato addict and when I needed a sweet fix today and you didn't have it in stock, I had to pick up a different flavor.  Will I be cheating on my Salted Caramel with The Cappuccino Chip?  Hmm... I think so - because this thing is BOMB dot COM.

My Darling Husband...  I would be lying if I said I was the easiest person to deal with, but I'm very thankful that I always have you to complain & cry to, but  most importantly, I'm very lucky and thankful that I have your love.  Bare with me please, I know I can be difficult... but in my darkest times, my darkest hours... my darkness...  you are what I see and you are what lights the way for me.  Because Baby all I need, in darkness YOU are all I see!  Thank you for always being there for me. <3 xo 143

Dear Sunday Morning... You have not brought any rain today, no clouds, no chilly weather - just the hot hot sun.  But, I do not hold it against you.  Sometimes things just get so crazy and living life gets hard to do... and I look forward to Sunday mornings... because it means that the week has come to an end and I can start all over again.

Well, that's it for the week loves.  I am looking forward to a new week and new adventures.  Out with the Old as they say.  Don't forget to add a little glitter & sparkle to your day... because Sparkle is NEVER optional.

Hi Loves.  Happy Saturday.  It took me a while to get my Friday Favorites up... but I promise, it was not my fault - YouTube was being a butt today so it took a while to get it uploaded. lol  Check out the video below for my Friday Favorites from this week or click here to watch it on YouTube. :)  Have a great weekend! xo ~ Honey

We all know... I'm a sucker for Leopard Print.  I have been seeing these Baroque Sunglasses around in the last few months and a few of my friends actually own them as well, but I never thought I would own a pair myself.  I'm not too fond of really large frames and really large circle frames at that.  But, after seeing these shades on ShopLately in Leopard - I knew I had to have them.
Picture
Picture
What I love about these shades is that they are available in a number of colors... Black, White, Brown and of course... Leopard.  It's a great addition to any Winter Wardrobe and the Style is all over the runways and magazines.   Check out my video embedded below or click here to watch on YouTube as I talk about the Sunglasses and show them to you in person. :)

As I have mentioned many many times... I am a Maui Jim and Oakley Sunglass addict.  I do own a few other brands of sunglasses as well as fashion accessory sunglasses that can be found at Boutiques, etc. - but venturing away from certain styles is definitely difficult for me to do.  I am enjoying my sunglasses.  They are chic and on trend... and I love that they can dress up my messy bun do any day of the week.
Picture
Picture
Not looking for Sunglasses?  Don't worry... because ShopLately carries a plethora of accessories for all styles and tastes.  I must admit - I am a Shoplately addict and you can find me frequently browsing the pages of the site several times a week, if not once a day.  Affordable trendy accessories for all styles, trends and budgets.  I have quite the collection of jewelry and accessories from the site because they come from quality sellers and shipping is pretty fast.   Be sure to stop at the site and browse through all they have to offer... from Handbags (yup - you know I frequent there often lol), Jewelry, Scarves, Hats, Sunglasses and even shoes... you will definitely find something you love.

Oh, I almost forgot to mention.  If you are not already signed up to use ShopLately... click on this link: https://shoplately.com/u/vv5zp15p and sign up using your Facebook Account.  You will instantly get a $5.00 credit to use for shopping.  It's a great way to try out a product you have been eyeing up.  You can use the $5.00 credit towards your first shopping purchase which is definitely a great deal.

Let's face it... purple will always be my favorite color.  So much so, that people sometimes even harass me about it. lol  But, you know what - I digress and move on.  Purple has been a favorite color of mine since elementary school.  Trust me when I say my parents were quite happy about that... because my previous favorite color was apparently brown and on occasion... gold. lol  While I grew out of those, well... brown anyway, my love for purple held true, just like my love for Hello Kitty.

On Thursday, I decided I wanted to rock a very subtle look.  Something that was wearable but still had a punch of color.   Of course, my punch of color had to be purple.  I wanted to utilize the Bronze Pigment I received in my Ipsy bag for August from MicaBeauty Cosmetics.  I love this pigment because it will really take on a different light depending on the base you choose to wear it with.  I wanted it to look light... almost champagne in color so I opted for a bright skin toned color base... and I absolutely love the result.

It is rare for me to do soft looks like these for tutorials... but I will try to at least do a GRWM the next time I do a look similar.  This is actually a favorite go-to for me when it comes to color combinations for eyes and lips... and if you have been following me a while, you would have seen many photos using similar colors from other brands.  It definitely brings out the hazel in my eyes... and of course, purple and gold... Priceless!
Hope you enjoyed this look!

Everyone knows that IDK from China Glaze is quite possibly one of my most favorite  nail polishes - EVER.  I have a huge love for purple... and have my fair share of purple polishes, but this one just catches my fancy and it's been a favorite of mine for quite a few years.
I have tried quite a bit of color combination and design combinations with IDK, but never really anything with black or white I am ashamed to say.  After picking up my Maybelline Clear Spotted Polka Dot polish from the Color Collection... I decided that I wanted to really do something fun with it.  This nail polish look was quick and I did enjoy doing it.  It's fun and definitely something I will rock in different colors using the same type of design.
Products Used:
China Glaze IDK
Maybelline Color Show Polka Dot polish in Clearly Spotted
Sinful Colors Clear Top Coat
*no base coat used this time.

As many of you know... even while on my "Get Healthy" Journey... I am still a Foodie at heart.  I LOVE to cook and even more so I love to eat.  I was browsing my favorite recipe sites and came across this very simple and easy recipe.   For me... scalloped potatoes are a favorite comfort food for the Winter months and I figured this would be a great time to share it for those who are gearing up for the cold season.   I haven't tried it yet, but I can say that I have tried many recipes from this site and haven't tasted a bad one yet ;)  Be sure to click on the link below to be taken to the site for nutritional facts and more details.
Ingredients:

  • 1 can (10 3/4 ounces) Campbell's® Condensed Cream of Celery Soup (Regular or 98% Fat Free)
  • 1 can (10 1/2 ounces) Campbell's® Chicken Gravy
  • 1 cup milk
  • 5 medium potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced (about 5 cups)
  • 1 small onion, thinly sliced (about 1/4 cup)
  • 2 1/2 cups diced cooked ham
  • 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese (about 4 ounces)

How to Make It:

  • Stir the soup, gravy and milk in a small bowl. Layer half the potatoes, onion, ham and soup mixture in a 3-quart shallow baking dish. Repeat the layers. Cover the baking dish.

  • Bake at 375°F. for 40 minutes. Uncover and bake for 25 minutes. Top with the cheese. Bake for 5 minutes or until the potatoes are tender and the cheese is melted. Let stand for 10 minutes.

Hey Loves... Happy Sunday.  So yesterday I decided I would film a Get Ready with Me and Chit Chat video.  I swear I haven't done one of those in what seems like forever.   I was getting ready to head to my sissy's house, she was having a BBQ there and decided instead of just putting on mascara and lip balm that I would do a quick makeup look.   Several years ago I did these GRWM / Chit chat videos more than regular tutorials... and I really enjoyed basing each one on a specific topic to talk about, but I kind of stopped doing it and decided I am going to pick it up once again.  Photos and a list of products can be found below the embedded video.  If you would like to watch the video on YouTube - click here http://youtu.be/7k7VuiqK70E

Hey guys... So this week's Friday Favorites changed up just a bit.  Instead of the regular "5 Friday Favs in 5 Minutes..."  I LOVE BRACELETS... I love them even more when they actually say the word "LOVE" on them.  As a huge romantic at heart, I think any bracelet with the word love that is written out is just an awesome and timeless piece, regardless of how it is displayed.
I own this style of Love Bangle in gold and it is probably one of my most favorite pieces of jewelry I own.  Considering it is fashion/costume jewelry and I use it at least once a week, it has kept nicely and I haven't had any problems with tarnishing, fading or discoloration.  The bangle sports the word love in script on both sides of the bangle and it will go with absolutely any arm party you plan to use for the day.
Honey's Tip:  When purchasing costume or fashion jewelry, to prolong the life of your Jewelry - store them in a ziplock bag with like jewelry.  After each use and before putting the jewelry away - wipe your jewelry down with a jewelry cloth or a clean / dry paper towel and then store in the bag.  This will help to protect from the air and oxidation and you should be able to get a good life out of your jewelry without too much tarnishing, fading or discoloration.
In the photo above, I am using the Love Bangle along with a few other bangles that have gold hues.  This bangle pairs nicely with other bracelets without being too overbearing.  I love that it is light weight and I can use it on a casual attire day.

In April, I used my Love Bangle as a part of my Wedding Anniversary ensemble.  My dress was simple - hounds tooth print with a black slimming bottom but it added just the right touch to my outfit.  While I was pretty dressed up, the bracelet fit right in without playing down my dressy look. (photo below)
Right now, the Gold Bangle is Out of Stock, so be sure to join the wait list so that they can let you know when it is available again.  However, the Silver LOVE bangle is still for sale on the site, so check it out and see if this is something you want to add to your accessory collection.

$10 USD - Silver Bangle
$8 USD - Gold Bangle

And - SIGN UP using your Facebook account and you can get a $5.00 shopping credit to use on your next purchase.

Also - don't forget to check out the other awesome goodies you can find at ShopLately - from Hats and Handbags to all sorts of jewelry.  Gorgeous accessories for all trends, tastes and collections.

If you follow me on Instragram, you would have seen my little haul of the new and Limited Edition Milani Rose Blushes.  They are so pretty and the concept and packaging are just awesome.   While I didn't get a chance to get one of them, I ordered it - but it sold out so they had to refund me... I am glad and happy with the colors I did get my hands on. :)  Check out my Haul, First Impressions and Swatches (Show and Tell) in the video embedded below or watch it here on YouTube.

Let me just start off by saying that I hope you all have an awesome weekend :D  It was super duper hot today and when I mean hot, I mean sticky, yucky, muggy and funky hot.  I Actually wasn't planning to put any makeup on, but felt like I needed a little pick me up with this weird weather.
I didn't want to really put on much makeup so I decided to sweep a few of my favorite HoneyXO colors on my lid and into the crease as well as on the lower lash line.  For my lips I wanted to do something pretty "show stopping" so I pulled out one of my favorite Hot Pink lipsticks and popped a little bit of the Pop Beauty Pouty Pop Crayon in Coral Crush (got in my July Ipsy Bag) in the middle of my pout to lighten it up a bit.  I will be honest though... no matter how many times I have used this Pop Beauty crayon since I got it, it still is not a fav of mine.  I had to top it off with a gloss just to keep my lips looking moisturized and I don't have dry lips.
Products used:

Primer:  Too Faced Shadow Insurance
Eye Shadow Base:  NYX Eye Shadow Base in Skintone and MAC's Paint Pot in Delft
Eye Shadows:
  • HoneyXO Pigment/Shadow in Chantilly (all over the lid and partially into the crease)
  • HoneyXO Pigment/Shadow in Chocolate (blended into the crease)
  • HoneyXO Pigment/Shadow in Sensual (blended on my upper lash line over the black liner to soften the liner look and slightly smoke it out)
  • HoneyXO Pigment/Shadow in Vanilla (Highlight on Browbone and a little in the inner corner of eyes "tear ducts")
  • HoneyXO Pigment/Shadow in Sprinkles (lower lash line pop of color)

Eyeliner:  Mally Evercolor Starlight Waterproof Liner in Midnight
Mascara:  Starlooks Lash Booster and Benefit's  They're Real Mascara
Lips:
  • Lip liner:  Milani's Color Statement Liner in Fuchsia
  • Lipstick:  MAC's Candy Yum Yum and Pop Beauty's Pouty Pop Crayon in Coral Crush
  • Gloss:  Avon Glazewear Clear gloss

Cheeks:  Milani Rose Blush in Bella Rosa (these blushes from the Rose Blush line are super duper pigmented and since I was going for a soft look on the face, I only swept a soft and light brush of color... just so my cheeks had a little bit of a tint.

I hope you guys enjoyed today's FOTD... thanks so much for stopping by and I'll see ya or talk to ya in my next post. :)
xoxo

As most of you know - I am a huge fan of the ELF Nail Polish Topper in Fairy... and I am always looking for a reason to use the color.  Last night, before bed I decided I would try this topper out over one of my new Nail Polishes from the San Francisco by OPI Fall/Winter Collection - Peace & Love & OPI.

These two go so well together.  The camera and lighting captured the nail polish in two different types of colors.  Since Peace & Love & OPI is a Holographic / duo chrome type of polish, I took photos in two different types of light - a soft light, as the sun was beginning to set and a harsher, brighter light, as the sun was pretty prominent in the sky.
Picture
Softer Light used to photograph.
I used Sinful Colors Over the Top - top coat over the gorgeous shades.  Peace & Love & OPI is such a gorgeous color.  It has hues of a Golden/hunter green, purple, gray and silver.  It reminds me of a Pigment by HoneyXO called Maui.  It's absolutely beautiful.  And, topped with Fairy from ELF really made it pop.  Though the images do not show it - Fairy is a multi-colored type topper with different types of flecks from a light lavender and orange-pink to a green and other colors.  It reminds me of cellophane that you get at Easter in your basket.  Gorgeous and such a beautiful pairing together.

I know, I know... most of you have already seen this photo - especially if you follow me on Instagram.  But I have been completely slacking in Dinner Diary Videos and I love sharing my dinner treats with all of you.  My Achiote chicken is a special recipe, I share it with NO ONE... so I'm sorry that I will not be sharing a recipe with you today - however, even if this may be a little naughty - especially because of the rice, it is still a little on the balanced side and I always make sure to have some sort of green vegetable to eat along with our protein and rice.  Living in Hawaii - it's kind of difficult to give up rice altogether, so we try to limit it to the number of days we eat it each week.
Hope you guys enjoyed my dinner post.  Have a wonderful rest of your week!

"Nani" means "Beautiful" in Hawaiian
Hey Loves... so a few weeks ago I got an email from BH Cosmetics rolling out their Mermaid Inspired Makeup tutorial.   I wasn't sure if I was going to submit this as an entry - but decided I would go ahead and submit it.  I didn't really have a chance to plan any look out and since I knew I would be super busy the rest of this month and may miss the deadline, I decided I would just do a look that had colors inspired by mermaids.  However, after the eye look was done, I thought it needed a little more, so I added the scales (which I did similar to in my Hawaiian Mermaid Tutorial last year) and a some lines that I liked to think would replicate water (below my lower lash - on the outer corners).
PRODUCTS USED:

Primer:  Too Faced Shadow Insurance
Base:  NYX Eye Shadow Base in White
Eye Shadows:
  • BH Party Girl Palette
  • MAC's:  Deep Truth, Steamy and Gorgeous Gold, Frost Reflex Pigment and Mutiny Pigment
  • HoneyXO Pigments in:  Just Keep Swimming, EPIC, Mermaid Serenade & Ever After
  • Lorac Pro Palette:  Cream

Eye Liner:  Mica Beauty Gel Liner in Black and Mally Beauty Evercolor Waterproof liner in Midnight, ELF Cream Liner in Aqua and Starlooks Cream liner in Princess Diaries
Mascara:  Anastasia Beverly Hills Lash Genius and Benefit They're Real Mascara
Lashes:  True or False Marilyn Monroe Lashes
Lips:  Milani Lip Liner in Fuchsia, Milani Lipsticks in Violet Volt and Rose Hip and topped with HoneyXO gloss in Hula Girl.
For the most part, the look was easy to do and didn't take long.  I didn't film a makeup tutorial for it, but do have plans to use similar colors in a tutorial soon.

I hope you guys liked my look.  I can't wait to see the other submissions... I love to look at all the creativity. :)
