I know how difficult it can be to eat healthy when you are in the mood for a light snack or lunch. It's very easy to reach into the fridge or pantry and grab something that is not too healthy. It is especially so when children come home from school, hungry and with lots of energy and you want to be able to put something in front of them that will be healthy for them and quick to make. As a busy mom, I need something that is quick for me to make and feeding their energy with something that will give my child a fulfillment and satisfy their hunger till dinner is key to a happy household.
While I am sure that there are other variations to this easy meal - this is mine. Ingredients / supplies needed:
Snack/Side options:
- Whole Wheat Tortilla Wrap
- Turkey Breast (you can use strips of turkey breast or use slices) approximately 2 slices
- Tomatoes (sliced) about 3 to 4 slices
- Spinach (fresh & washed) about a cup
- Hummus - approximately a table spoon
Snack/Side options:
- Pita Chips and Babybel cheese or string cheese
- Fruit
- Greek Yogurt
- Snack Pack or Jello
- Guacamole and pita chips or wheat chips
- Carrots, Celery, Cherry/Grape Tomatoes (with a side of hummus or dip)
