I had the awesome opportunity to try out some new Glade Products... The Glade Expressions Oil Diffuser and the Glade Expressions Fragrance Mist.  As a BzzAgent, I was given some coupons to trade in for the Starter kits for each.

I searched several stores to locate these items.  First, my local Walgreens and CVS, where they were completely sold out.  Then I went to Walmart, and still... it was not available, not to mention the whole section for Glade was just poorly cared for.  That is not Glade's fault of course... Walmart in general needs to kick that in high gear.
I was finally able to locate the items at my local Kmart - however, because I live in Hawaii and the cost for everything is completely inflated here... the items costs came over the coupon limit, so I had a small fee that I had to pay for... it was minor, but still - I did have to pay out of pocket.

I decided that I wanted to get two different scents when purchasing both... so for the Fragrance Mist - I went with the Pineapple Mangosteen...  it smells delicious.  I keep this spray in my kitchen and spray my waste basket with it.  I love the scent and it mixes well with my kitchen.  It is easy to use and I love that when I run out of the mist, I can easily discard the mist, keep the spray and just replace it with another mist of my choosing.  The sprayer is actually chic and pretty contemporary so it will fit into any kitchen or household decor and I love the scents that they have available.  Just to name a few: Pineapple & Mangosteen (which I have), Fuji Apple & Cardamom Spice, Lavender & Juniper Berry, and Cotton & Italian Mandarin.  They also have some awesome Spring scents that I am looking forward to try out... Garden Sunshine and Vibrant Bloom.  The price is reasonable and you can certainly find them in most stores.
The Glade Expressions Oil Diffuser was a fun buy.  I found a few different scents and opted to try the lavender & juniper berry since I love the scent of lavender.  The Glade Diffuser sits in my living room near one of the windows so that when the breeze blows, it lightly scents the house.

The packaging in general is perfect for any house decor.  It's simple and kind of reminds me of a Japanese lantern... the type they release into the water (a tradition you see here in Hawaii often).  I also love that you can easily switch out the scents and you have a wide selection to choose from.
The scents are the same as that of the Fragrance Mist - but I love that I can decide to use either or in the house.  While the scent definitely travels through out the whole house, it is not too strong or over-bearing which a lot of fragrances can definitely be. The diffusers come in a white almost porcelain looking type of design or a wooden looking design which will allow you to match it with any house decor.
Switching out the scents when you need to replace them for either unit is simple and very easy to do and each one comes with a set of easy to follow instructions.  I love that there are no "technical aspects" for doing so and you do not need to plug in or light anything like a traditional candle or plug in air freshener.
Glade has been a household name for many many years and I love that they are consistently offering new items as time goes on.
I would like to thank BzzAgent and Glade for giving me the opportunity to try out these really cool items.  I will certainly continue to use them both as they have been a great addition to our household decor and have proven to be quite useful.
FTC: I am a BzzAgent and was sent these items for review and consideration.  My opinion is 100% honest and my own and in now way has my opinion been comprised by payment/compensation or that I have been provided a product for free.  I did have to pay a small amount out of pocket due to the location of where I live and cost of living.

This week was pretty busy and kept me on my toes.  Because of this, I tried to keep my looks simple and wearable so that I would not feel restricted or like I had a lot of makeup on or heavy clothing.  My hair was also super simple, it was a messy bun type of week. lol

Hope you all had a wonderful week.  This upcoming week will be very heckteck and crazy for me - so if you do not see much of me on my blog, that is why.  I have several photoshoots and promise to post sneak peaks here.  Wishing you all a wonderful upcoming week.

I have a problem... I am addicted to Makeup, Handbags and Shoes. At first, I was in denial, then I realized that I truly have an addiction and stopping is difficult. lol

I have been watching PinkSoFoxy on YouTube for a while now, not only because I love her videos regarding DIY's, Makeup and More... but I also love that she is from Maui just like me.  This past December, she did a video that stuck in my mind... her Make Out 2013 video.  I was so hyped to get started, but realized I failed in my efforts of starting fresh for the new year... so I'm going to be doing something a little different with her video as inspiration.

Moving forward (since I already shopped like a mad women the last 2 months... I'm going to limit what I buy each month with regard to Makeup/Cosmetics, Handbags and Shoe purchases.  Here are my proposed limits I am making on myself.

Just like Christine (PinkSoFoxy) - I will allow myself 10 Makeup/Cosmetic Purchases left for the remainder of the year.  (I should actually drop this number since I already went buck wild in January & February - but let's be honest... 10 is already a huge challenge for me. lol) This limit includes the following:  All color cosmetics to include: Eyeshadows (a palette will be counted as 1), Blush, Bronzer, highlighters, lipsticks, lip liners, eye liners, eye primers, foundation, powder, color nail polish, perfume and also repurchases of any items I finish.

10 Makeup Purchases for the remainder of 2013:
I will allow myself 10 makeup purchases for the year 2013. This includes: all color cosmetics, eyeshadow, blush, bronzer, highlighters, lipstick, lip liner, eyeliner, eye primers, foundation, powder, mascara, color nail polish, perfume, and repurchases of any items I finish.
Exclusions:
The following items are excluded from this list and can be purchased through the year and will not be counted:  Nail Polish remover, Top Coat/Base Coat, Back 2 Mac items (freebies), Hair care items like Shampoo/Conditioner/leave-ins/gels, etc., Body Care like body wash, lotion, etc. and Natural skincare products like oils, clays, toners, etc.  Anything that was given as a gift or in a swap where I did not have to spend my own money out of pocket is also excluded.  Anything that was sent to me for review is also excluded.  Also - any cosmetics that I formulate for my business is not counted as I need to have these as a part of my work.  Makeup that I purchase as a part of my kit will also not be counted, however, I stocked my kit this past year and do not foresee spending much in that category.

Also - If I utilize and use up all of the products in a specific category, I am able to repurchase if I do not have anything to replace it.  i.e. Mascara. This is a product I use consistently on a daily basis and go through monthly - however, I have a lot of and therefore must use all of my stock before buying more.  Same goes for lip balm.

Handbag Purchases for the remainder of 2013:
I will purchase no more than 2 affordable handbags within this calendar year (less than $25 each) or no more than 1 High End brand within this calendar year.

Exclusions: Gifts.  Anything that was given to me as a gift is excluded from this.  Anything sent to me for review is excluded as well.

Shoes/Footwear: I will purchase no more than 2 pairs of footwear in this calendar year.

Exclusions:  Gifts.  Anything that was given to me as a gift is excluded from this.  Also - if my slippers (flip flops) should break, I am able to replace with one pair.  Anything sent to me for review is also excluded from this as well.

My Rules:
Starting today (3/2/13) I will only purchase 10 items per my restriction.  I will come back to this post and update the list with each item I have purchased as I do.  My goal at the end of the year is to keep within the 10 item allotment for the makeup as well as the allotment for the other categories.  If I go over and buy more than I am supposed to - then I will list this here as well.  This will help me keep on a good financial track and also allow me to use up the makeup I have in my collection now.

I did just make 2 purchases in the last couple of days - I will not count those as a part of this yet and will consider it already a part of my inventory (I know - I kind of cheated, lol).

I will also be filming or taking photos of my 2013 Makeup collection in the next week or two so that you can see that I truly have more than enough and will be making use of this challenge.  I will also be posting updates as to how I am doing on this challenge and don't forget - I'll be updating my lists below.

If you want to join me in this - please let me know, I would love to put your link in this post for others to check out your joint effort as well.  Wish me luck!

Yay - Spring is almost here. :)  Don't get me wrong, I love the Winter.  Our Winter months here in Hawaii are very different from those that you get in the States... we have wet winters... lots of rain and wind.  It's nice to have our greenery replenished and looking so fresh again.  But, Spring is one of my all time favorite seasons (thought I'd be lying if I said I really couldn't choose. lol).

Spring inspired my Style Set for this week... I love the pastel colors (especially lavenders and mints) that always makes its way into the spotlight during this time of the year.  I thought I would go ahead and use my love for Spring for this week's set... called: Spring Sweetheart.  In this set I took my base inspiration from the way I dress and incorporated some key accessories to really bump up the look.  I am pretty simple when it comes to dress because living in Hawaii, everyone is totally casual.  But being casual doesn't mean you have to lack any style or fashion sense.  I took my basic outfit (which for me is a pair of denim shorts and a plain t-shirt, tank or button down blouse and added a few details to enhance the look.  I love gold and I think golds are a key piece when it comes to styling Spring fashions.  I wanted to add a floral print scarf for my biggest pop of color and of course, nothing says fashion like a Fedora, right?  Spring looks to me always seem complete with a pair of straw or cork type wedges... I just love the look that old school lace give these gorgeous Steve Maddens and of course, I wanted my accessories to add a little pop of color as well.

This look can easily be created with similar pieces and I absolutely love how dreamy this outfit looks.  Check out the list below for where each item can be found should you decide you want to recreate this yourself.  Use this style set as inspiration on your thrifting journeys and definitely share with me if you used it as a base to create your own, I would love to see your set or style. :)

If you have been following me on Facebook, you probably have read that our family has been under the weather the last couple of weeks.  It's taken its toll on all of us but as a family - together we overcome.  Because of this - my children have been very sensitive and emotional so it has inspired me to write what I have.
Picture
At the beginning of this week, Monday to be exact - my eldest (Kevin, we call him Ka'eo) who has been battling chest wheezing, coughing and an ear infection walked into my room at about 4:30 in the morning... whispering to me... "Mom, I don't feel well."  He was so soft that it didn't wake my husband, but I jumped up and took him into the kitchen where I gave him some medicine, something to drink and had him jump back into bed and try to get some sleep.  I went back to my room, laid my head on my pillow and slowly fell back to sleep once I heard over the monitor that the boys room had gone silent as they slept.

As you know - I also have Twin toddlers... 2 boys named Luke and Isaiah.  Both boys are newly potty trained, it's only been a week and a few days.  While they are doing very awesome, they too are also not feeling very well and have been battling a heavy cold, bad congestion and coughs and have just overcome their ear infections.
Picture
Two nights ago at 4:00am, my eldest of my twins, Luke walked into my bedroom and took his little hand and tapped me softly on my shoulder.  At an instant I arose and asked him if everything was okay.  He held his underwear in his hands and then took my finger in his hand to pull me into the bathroom and explain what had happened.  I realized after getting to the bathroom that he had gotten up to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night but since he was still very much asleep while doing so, even if he made it to use the bathroom, he managed to not move quick enough initially.  I cleaned up the mess, cleaned and changed him and put him in his bed to go back to sleep.  I laid down and listened to the monitor to ensure that he had fallen back asleep and then put myself to sleep as well.

While I know the two stories I just talked about were pretty lengthy - they definitely had a reason for what I had explained.  As a mother, even in my most tired state of mind or even if I was in a deep sleep... it would take very little for me to wake up if it involved my children and husband.  As I sit here typing this, I'm reminded of how important my role of a mother is and how much my children mean to me.  They are my World... and I am the person I am today because of everything they teach me.  If you ever want to learn compassion, look to a child in their innocence - a kiss on a boo boo can make everything better.  If you need to learn patience, watch a child while at play and imagine how the gears in their head are turning... while it takes them a little longer to figure things out at their young age, that doesn't keep them from continuing to try their hardest to accomplish their goals.  And, if you want to learn love... look at a child and how they love unconditionally.  Their little hearts are ever growing, making room for everyone they meet along their path... loving without a negative thought on their minds.

I am proud to be a mother... not because it's my obligation or my job, but because it is one of the most important things I will ever do in my lifetime.  And, as a mother I look back at my childhood years and remember the inspiration my mother gave to me.  She paved the way to help mold me into the mother I am today and for that - I'm thankful.  I look at motherhood not as giving up a part of me for someone else, but as opening my heart to little people that make me a better person.  They are not my obligation - but my loves and my life and there is no where else I'd rather be but with these wonderful guys. <3

To all the mothers out there - the video below is for you.  Because while I know many of you sometimes feel unappreciated or even forgotten... trust that your children - no matter the situation, will never ever forget you and will always love you!

Isaiah, Ka'eo and Luke with our Koa
I read this beautiful story for the first time just a few days ago while my husband was reading it on someone else's Facebook Timeline.  I broke into tears and found that I couldn't stop balling for a couple of minutes, as my mind filled with all the happy memories of our beloved Koa - who we lost just a few days before this past Christmas.  It was a difficult time for us and we still have moments where we stop and our hearts feel so broken, but our hearts are some what at ease knowing that All Dogs Go To Heaven and we have a Guardian Angel watching over us till we meet again.  We are also very lucky to have a new addition to our family, Ikaika... who is our new King Charles Cavalier Spaniel.  He's still very much a puppy and it has been a bit different having a smaller dog since Koa was an American Red Nose Pitbull.  Ikaika is a sweetheart, very loving and definitely keeps us on our toes... but we are very happy and lucky to have him.
If you haven't had the opportunity to read the story that has been circulating on Facebook about a little boy who answers the question... "Why dogs live less than Humans?" Definitely take the time to read it.  While everyone comes to their own conclusions in life - I often believe that children provide the most innocent answers because they know in their heart that it is true... and it certainly isn't wrong in thinking so.  I think that this story hit home for me in my heart, not only because we lost our Koa in a similar way, but also because the last few months, about 3 to be exact... have been eye openers for me.  Having been working my butt off for my home businesses... I am starting to realize that none of that is important if you are not enjoying your life and those you love.  <3

I wanted to share this with all of you.  Love your pets, enjoy your life and be happy! (The store is below)

WHY DOGS LIVE LESS THAN HUMANS ? ANSWER OF A 6 YEAR OLD

Being a veterinarian, I had been called to examine a ten-year-old Irish Wolfhound named Belker. The dog’s owners, Ron, his wife Lisa, and their little boy Shane, were all very attached to Belker, and they were hoping for a miracle.

I examined Belker and found he was dying of cancer. I told the family we couldn’t do anything for Belker, and offered to perform the euthanasia procedure for the old dog in their home.

As we made arrangements, Ron and Lisa told me they thought it would be good for six-year-old Shane to observe the procedure. They felt as though Shane might learn something from the experience.

The next day, I felt the familiar catch in my throat as Belker ‘s family surrounded him. Shane seemed so calm, petting the old dog for the last time, that I wondered if he understood what was going on. Within a few minutes, Belker slipped peacefully away.

The little boy seemed to accept Belker’s transition without any difficulty or confusion. We sat together for a while after Belker’s Death, wondering aloud about the sad fact that animal lives are shorter than human lives.
Shane, who had been listening quietly, piped up, ”I know why.”

Startled, we all turned to him. What came out of his mouth next stunned me. I’d never heard a more comforting explanation. It has changed the way I try and live.

He said,”People are born so that they can learn how to live a good life — like loving everybody all the time and being nice, right?” The Six-year-old continued,

”Well, dogs already know how to do that, so they don’t have to stay as long.”

Live simply.

Love generously.

Care deeply.

Speak kindly.

Remember, if a dog was the teacher you would learn things like:

When loved ones come home, always run to greet them.

Never pass up the opportunity to go for a joyride.

Allow the experience of fresh air and the wind in your face to be pure Ecstasy.

Take naps.

Stretch before rising.

Run, romp, and play daily.

Thrive on attention and let people touch you.

Avoid biting when a simple growl will do.

On warm days, stop to lie on your back on the grass.

On hot days, drink lots of water and lie under a shady tree.

When you’re happy, dance around and wag your entire body.

Delight in the simple joy of a long walk.

Be loyal.

Never pretend to be something you’re not.

If what you want lies buried, dig until you find it.

When someone is having a bad day, be silent, sit close by, and nuzzle them gently.

ENJOY EVERY MOMENT OF EVERY DAY!

As you all know... I am a huge supporter of Candy Color Lenses - I have been reviewing for them for about 2 years now and I also purchase from them regularly.

This month I had the opportunity to work with CCL once again.  They sent me two lenses from their Dragon Lens Line in Gold and Hazel.  Each pair in that collection is sold for $19.99 - which is a steal considering that they can retail for $39.99 at other online stores.
The lenses I am wearing in this photo are the Hazel Dragon Lenses.  They are actually pretty comfortable considering the diameter of the lens.  I did not have any difficulty seeing through them and my vision was not impaired in any way.  I used this pair for several hours without any problems.
Now don't laugh at this photo. lol I'll have a better one posted soon and will add or replace it.  In this photo I am using the Gold Dragon Lenses.  This lens is my favorite of the 2.  I love the gold detail and how it sparkles and looks like a gold glittery nail polish.  It is very comfortable to wear - I just think this lens makes my eyes look very doll like, which the other does not do.
To purchase from Candy Color Lenses - visit their website: http://www.candycolorlenses.com and check out their wide selection of contacts.  They are a US Based Contacts distributor and offer affordable prices for their products.

Check out my video which is posted below for more details and if you want to enter this awesome giveaway sponsored by CCL - scroll to the bottom and check out the Giveaway below.

Can you believe it is already March 1st of this year...??? Well, actually - it is probably March 2nd in different places of the World since it is already almost 10pm here in Hawaii.  I cannot believe how fast this year has gone by and I can't believe that we are already in the 3rd month of 2013. I am surely going to try and stop and smell the roses and take some time to love life... because work life has been keeping me so busy - it's flying by without my approval. ;)
I figured I would share some photos with all of you since I haven't done a Flash Back Friday in what seems to be forever.  In the photo above you will see me and my little sister Katt.  The first one in the back ground is of the 2 of us in front of a huge whale that actually still stands today.  If you don't know - Hawaii is big for whales... long story - go read a history book. lol j/k.  Umm...  neon colors were totally in back then.  That photo was taken in the 90's.  I believe I was 9 years old then.  The other photo of us in the corner was taken for my 16th birthday and her 14th birthday.  We both celebrate birthdays in January... so we celebrated our birthdays together that year.  We had so much fun that day :)
Aww... baby Honey. lol Look at those kicks I'm rockin'... super cool.  In this photo above I think I was about to turn a year old... I believe this is New Years Day 1981 and I would be turning a year 13 days later.  Man... I surely had some chubbo thighs... lol  While I still have a full life to live, I am so amazed at how my life is coming full circle.

I am loving 2013 so far... while it doesn't lack it's challenges - it certainly has brought out a strength in me I think I forgot that I had.  I love that I am able to really buckle down and figure out who I am this year - without the outside interference of others.

I leave you with this song... 1st of Tha Month as a little inspiration for the rest of the month.  I apologize for the language through out - but not all good music comes without swear words I guess.  Have a blessed month and weekend!

By popular demand, eos is bringing back the Lip Balm Smooth Sphere in Pomegranate Raspberry.

I haven't had the opportunity to try this particular flavor out and since I don't have a Target here (which is the only place it will be available for now) I'm lucky that EOS will be sending me a sample to try soon.

This awesome sphere is USDA-Certified Organic and is 100% natural (Awesome, right!).  You definitely want to get your hands on this flavor if you missed out on it when it was released previously.  At $2.99 - it definitely is a steal for the amount of product you get in each Lip Balm Sphere.

Like I mentioned previously, this will be available at Target Stores. :)

If you have been following me a while... you know that EOS Lip Balm Spheres are my absolute favs.  I have a collection of them all over the house and grab for them when ever my lips need a little TLC and quenching.  My favorite of all of them is the Passion Fruit flavored lip balm.  Passion Fruit in Hawaii is also known as Liliko'i and it really is my favorite lip balm flavor... not to mention that it is also a beautiful purple which is my favorite color.

Last year - I did a review for Coastal Scents that included this brush set... a 22 piece professional brush set.  I really enjoy and love this set - it's universal and you can get a lot of use of it.  For those of you who don't have over 200 brushes as I do - this is definitely something you can pick up to build your kit and collection.

This brush set sports a mix of natural and synthetic brushes and it is on sale for just $22.00 - originally $34.95.  Get your hands on it today. :)

The Nude crave has definitely been a lot more popular over the last year and I think it is a great addition to any collection.  Milani has also come out with their own addition to the Nude World... with a Limited Edition collection of palettes from their Runway Eyes line.  The collection sports 2 palettes, one called Natural Chic, the other called True Classics.

These gorgeous collection includes 6 beautifully intense color bars in a compact that also includes their double ended sponge applicator - which most of us are familiar with if we do own any of the Runway Eyes Palettes (which I am lucky to).  This collection is a "all in one" type of palette as the colors are perfectly matched and formulated to be able to create an eye look utilizing the colors provided, lighter tones to highlight - medium and dark tones to contour and define.  The formula glides on effortlessly and you can use it WET just like their other baked shadows to create a more intense effect.  This palette is hitting Walgreens and Fred Meyer stores in March and are a Limited Edition - so get your hands on it while you can.

The palette retails for $8.99 each and if you don't have a Walgreens or Fred Meyer near you - check out Milani's Website to order your own.

It's been such a busy week and it certainly has flown by.  It seems like this year in general has been flying by pretty quickly.  Wishing you all a wonderful weekend.

If you haven't figured out that I LOVE Purple... then you surely will after reading this post.  I was so excited to receive my February StarLooks box (I know I'm late in posting - I had this box for about a week and haven't had a chance to get this post/video up).  This box sported such a pretty baby pink with purple flare.  I loved that it screamed Valentine's Day with soft colors perfect for the month of love.

What was included in my Starlooks box for February?

Princess Diaries Eye Liner - valued at $15.00
Barbie Fluid Blush (which I love) - valued at $15.00
Pink Oasis Lip Gloss - valued at $11.00
Lauren Clark's Tipsy Lip Liner - value unknown

So far I have tried all of the products and absolutely love each one.  The Princess Diaries Eye liner is not something I would wear all the time - but definitely works well as an eye shadow base and I would totally wear the pink as an eyeliner during the Spring and Summer months.   The Blush is my absolutely favorite thing in the whole box... it is so pigmented (as you can see in my swatches in the video) and it has awesome staying power.  I also love that a little of it goes a really long way - which means that your product will last, especially if you are a blush wearer on the daily.

The Lip Gloss had a great texture to it.  I am not particularly fond of lip gloss in general - I love lipsticks... but this color goes great as a gloss over a pretty pink lip or even a darker lip.  It is definitely a great buy with awesome texture and not that sticky as well.  And, last but not least is the lip liner which I am totally fond of.  Highly pigmented, creamy and applies like a dream.  This will be my definitely Spring Summer lip liner with my coral type shades.

In my opinion - for something that is $15 a month plus less than $2.00 (I believe) for shipping - this is totally worth it.  The box contents alone retail at $41 and that doesn't even count the cost of the lip liner which was included.  Furthermore, this is a Lauren Clark box which makes it much more interesting and definitely inspiring to try out her looks.  If you are interested in Starlooks - check out their site and subscribe: http://www.starlooks.com
